By Lisa Buffaloe “And the LORD will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones…” (Isaiah 58:11 NAS). Our little dog can’t wait to get out for his evening walk. He doesn’t care where he’s going—he just wants to get there as fast as possible. Pulling against his leash, he coughs and hacks his way down the sidewalk. Pull…cough….tug…. hack…. the pressure continues as he sniffs, paws, and explores the world. Our dog has a love/hate relationship with his leash. He loves the walk but would prefer to run free. He doesn’t realize that his leash is not for punishment. He does not know the way. He thinks every dog will be his friend, not realizing he is but an appetizer for a big dog. He doesn’t realize a pleasant pace can be had without pressure if he will just stay close. His training will continue until he learns to walk at a pace with his master while we gently lead him safely to his destination. God is intimately acquainted with our ways. He is a loving Father who knows the best way to bring us safely home. Trust Him, relax, and enjoy the journey. You couldn’t be in better Hands. |
