A recent trend in evangelical homes is in the increasing number of families choosing to home school their children. Part of this education, sometimes required by state law, is to include a study of the Arts. While taking field trips to the museum is a great way to experience art, creating art can really stir a love for inspired self-expression. But this can be daunting to a parent who is inexperienced in teaching such creative outlets. |

In a technology driven world, kids grow up in front of the television and are internet savvy by kindergarten. I know my five year old is fully capable of surfing the web via the sites she sees on commercials, such as nickelodeon.com and disneychannel.com. With this e-generation comes quite a downfall: kids would rather be entertained than entertain. In an attempt to nurture the imaginations of little ones, we often stifle them. |
