| My walk with Christ and the events leading to my relationship with Christ have made for quite a journey. I was baptized in the Catholic Church as an infant but my parents stopped attending church when I was very little. My only exposure was when I visited my grandparents. Even then it was more out of family duty and obligation than anything else. By the time I entered my high school and college years, I realized that religious ritual was empty. I began seriously questioning my faith and whether or not I believed in the existence of a supreme being. I was not an atheist by any stretch but still skeptical nonetheless. | |

When I was 17, the Los Angeles Times printed a front page news article entitled: “Strength in the Face of Adversity.” That article explored how I managed to overcome a nightmarish childhood and still made it into the prestigious school, U.C. Berkeley. During my time at Berkeley, I worked hard to maintain a 4.3 GPA while managing a busy schedule combining several jobs and a long list of extracurricular activities including Editor in Chief and President of the honors society. I won’t go into the details but, suffice it to say, the LA Times found it newsworthy that I had accomplished such accolades because my life had really been that bad. |

My devotion to the Word of God began shortly after my teenage years. My Mother and Father were very faithful in His word and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Earlier in life I always knew and felt the presence of God but, I was often naive about how he helped me through all those years. Shortly after I arrived in Atlanta, I met many young men and women who were really walking in faith. It was something I wasn’t used to but, I soon invited these friends in my life with open arms. |
